Phase Two: Transitional Housing & Long-Term Stability
Following emergency response and crisis intervention, Elizabeth’s Village offers Transitional Housing as the second phase of our Domestic Violence Program. This phase is designed for survivors who are no longer in immediate crisis but still need safe housing, advocacy, and structured support to rebuild stability and independence.
This program bridges the gap between emergency shelter and permanent housing, allowing survivors and their children the time and resources needed to heal, plan, and move forward safely.
Program Purpose:
The Transitional Housing phase supports survivors as they move from survival to self-sufficiency. Services focus on long-term safety, economic stability, and housing readiness while honoring survivor choice, autonomy, and individualized pacing.
Length of Stay:
Survivors may remain in Transitional Housing for up to 6 months, depending on individual needs, safety considerations, progress toward goals, and housing availability. Length of stay is flexible and determined collaboratively to support lasting success — not rushed exits.
Eligibility:
Transitional Housing is available to:
-
Survivors of domestic violence who have completed or stabilized beyond emergency shelter needs
-
Women and women with children who require continued housing support
-
Survivors able to live independently with ongoing advocacy and case management
-
Individuals willing to participate in goal planning and supportive services
All participation is voluntary, confidential, and survivor-centered.
